Biography

— Where I began,

— Where I’ve been,

— Where I am!

NICK FRADIANI Sr.

My musical journey began when I saw the Beatles perform on the Ed Sullivan Show.  I knew then that music and performing would be my life’s passion. Given a guitar at the age of 8, I began playing Beatle songs and other popular music. At 13, I formed a band and we won 1st place in an Exchange Club talent show. I have been performing professionally ever since. When I began playing piano, it inspired me to write and compose my own music. Playing in local rock bands as a lead guitarist and vocalist, my musical taste started to branch out.

By the late 1970’s, I started my first R & B, jazz, and contemporary band called Rhapsody. I played bass and was the lead vocalist. Rhapsody performed at major venues around the country. After landing a steady engagement at Harrah’s in Atlantic City, I began to record in a studio with my band. Our first album was released in 1981.

The lyrics and music for a single, “Sunset Beach” was composed and sung by me.  By the late 1980’s, I left the band to pursue a solo career.  I performed as a piano player, singer and keyboardist playing cruise ships and major hotels.

I played in Atlantic City at Resorts International. I then began performing internationally with gigs in Montreal, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Acapulco and Aruba.  By the early nineties, I recorded my first solo album Living on the Edge of Time”.  The first single, Midnight Lady, is still being played today in Paris and Italy.  In 2009, I released another CD titled Aruba Nights that was entirely composed and sung by me.

Today I perform statewide, singing both old favorites by renowned artists like Barry White, Neil Diamond, George Strait, etc. as well as songs by new artists such as Ed Sheeran, Cody Johnson, Keith Urban and Luke Bryan.  The Coast Magazine article quotes, “His popularity has surged while he attracts audiences of all ages”.

Christian Music has become another passion of mine in recent years. I’ve recorded and produced two Christian CD’s, “Blessed Assurance” and “Christ In Me”. I created the title song for Christ In Me.

My passion for music has been passed on to my son Nick Fradiani. Nick won the coveted award of the 2015 American Idol.  As a songwriter, singer and guitarist, he has traveled throughout the U.S. starring in the Broadway production of A Bronx Tale. He also appeared for two years in the lead role on Broadway as a young Neil Diamond in A Beautiful Noise and is now touring nationwide with the show.

Nick Fradiani Sr. resides with his wife Elizabeth (Liz) in Durham, CT.
